Road Safety Week


The Road Safety Week was held in South Mumbai  under the motto “Partners in  Traffic”  urging road users, public authorities and the private  sector to join their efforts in making traffic more secure, putting the safety of  pedestrians and bike riders  to a priority.The Government of India  has decided to Support The road Safety Week organized by WIAA with a road safety campaign aimed at improving  the safety of vulnerable road users. The campaign has been organized by the Road  Safety Department of the Ministry of Transport and Communications , with the Cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social Affairs, the Police, other Government. The road safety  material included TV and radio spots, press a advertisements, posters, banners and stickers. This campaign is a part of yearly planned road traffic work in Mumbai. A number of activities has been organised during this campaign, mostly planned in a one week period, from Jan 2011, the whole campaign was lasting until Jan 9th, 2011.
